Mission-based poet wins international award

Sopa de frijoles, Tamalitos, Guacamole, Arroz con leche…all seem like delicious plates off of a typical Latino restaurant’s menu. For Jorge Argueta, they are titles for his children’s poetry books. Argueta’s book ā€œGuacamole,ā€ was granted the ā€œBest Illustrated Bilingual Children’s Bookā€ award at the International Latino Book Awards Gala held in New York City on May 30.
