As negotiations continue between the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF) and the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), thousands of students remain out of school, without access to the daily meals many families rely on.

The San Francisco Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF) has updated its list of organizations providing free breakfast and lunch for youth ages 18 and under across the city during the strike. Meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meanwhile, Mission District businesses are also stepping in to support families.

Below is a list of local cafés, bakeries and restaurants offering free meals or discounted food to educators, students and families affected by the strike.

Note: Children ages 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult and provide proof of active SFUSD enrollment. Meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and quantities are limited at each location.
