International Day of Peasant Resistance with music by the Black Riders Liberation Party, and SHAKE YOUR PEACE! In February a delegation of representatives from U.S. social movements traveled to Brazil to attend the National Congress of the Landless Workers Movement (MST). The Congress was a celebration of the MST’s thirty-years of struggle, and a debate about its future. This event is a report-back by the three Bay Area delegates, with insights into the MST’s structure and strategy. It is being held on April 17, the International Day of Peasant Resistance, the date when 19 MST activists were massacred by state military police in 1996. Join us for discussion and music from local artists, as a fundraiser to support ongoing political organizing with the MST.
