Hundreds of demonstrators showed their support for farmers in India by marching across the Golden Gate Bridge on April 10. Since November, tens of thousands of farmers have been protesting against three farm bills that would ultimately change how the agricultural industry operates in India. Demonstrators have been camping along the borders of India’s Capital, New Delhi.

The bills, passed in September, would affect 58 percent of India’s population which relies on farming to sustain their livelihoods. “They want to take the land away from the farmers,” said Manroop Singh Gondal, a farmer who came with his family from Roseville to support farmers in India.
