Emergency concert for Las Hormigas. An intimate concert with Diana Gameros, Francisco Herrera and friends. A Legacy of U.S. neo-colonialism has subjected Mexicans and Latin Americans to brutal poverty, displaced off their lands to force them to go to the border areas to work for low wages in the maquilas. In these areas, they face violence and feminicides, drug wars and corrupt police, and the indifference of the government. In Ciudad Juarez, Las Hormigas Comunidad en Desarollo has been working to heal the wounds of violence and poverty, and to build a new community and social reality. Join us in a new Grito- a call for social economic justice, independence from poverty and fair trade and in supporting Las Hormigas through a financial crisis.
