Sinaloa, Mexico, San Jose, California, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the concept of El Norte itself are all associated with Los Tigres del Norte, the legendary Mexican band with roots en la Área de la Bahía since the mid-1960’s.

Los Tigres’ generational resonance in the Mexican diaspora has landed them numerous Grammy nominations and wins. True to their outlaw music, they became the first band to record an album in California’s notorious Folsom Prison since country music legend Johnny Cash did so in 1968.

On Sunday, July 31st, at the Frost Amphitheater in Stanford, CA, El Tecolote was on-site to capture a photo gallery of Los Tigres playing international hits such as “La Puerta Negra”, “Mi Sangre Prisonera”, and “La Jaula de Oro”. All photos by D.A. Mission Photos.
