May Day March Hundreds gathered at the 24th St. Bart Station chanting “Si se puede,” led by Yousef Alghethy, 12, a student from San Francisco Community School. This was the starting point for the march from the Mission to Civic Center on Saturday, May 1. Thousands waving American and international flags and wearing T-shirts that read “Boycott Arizona” came to show their support for immigrant rights. Numerous community organizations such as CARECEN, Local 2, and Asociacion Mayab were also present to express their outrage with Arizona’s SB1070 law.
