Direct from Spain Bay Area Flamenco is honored to present GUITARRA DE PALO, an evening featuring both the Bay Area Premiere of Andrea Zapata Girau’s hour-long music documentary, “Guitarra de Palo” and a 90-minute live performance by the main musicians from the film.
An all-star lineup with some of the most well-known and charismatic artists of Spain’s flamenco-jazz scene: flamenco guitarist AntĂłn JimĂ©nez (JoaquĂn CortĂ©s), legendary trumpeter and percussionist Jerry GonzĂĄlez (Fort Apache/Comandos de la Clave), renowned flautist Jorge Pardo (Paco de LucĂa/Chick Corea), blues-flamenco guitarist Raimundo Amador (Pata Negra), bass player Javier Colina (Bebo & Cigala), percussionist Israel SuĂĄrez “Piraña” (Buika/Paco de LucĂa), flamenco singer Rafita JimĂ©nez and flamenco dancer David Paniagua (Antonio Canales).
