A natural gas line exploded in San Bruno shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday. Several people have been critically burned. At least 53 houses destroyed with more than 120 damaged. The explosion affected a 10-acre area.

Two evacuation centers have been set up. One at Veterans Memorial Recreation Center, located at 251 City Park Way at Crystal Springs Road in San Bruno. The other is at Bayhill Shopping Center at 851 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno.Residents who resided in the affect area are asked to check in by calling (650) 616-7180 so that emergency crews won’t waste time searching for them.
Friday, 7:40 a.m. update: According to CBS 5, the Red Cross is asking for O negative blood, but will accept any type.
