Ahead of November’s high-stakes election, El Tecolote invited each candidate in the District 9 supervisor race to answer questions critical to Latinx residents in the Mission, Bernal Heights and Portola neighborhoods.

Candidates will come into our office for interviews throughout July. Here are the rules:

  • El Tecolote will ask candidates 5-10 questions on camera
  • Candidates will get 1 minute to answer each question (and a minute to think about it)
  • “Do-overs” will not be allowed

Once all interviews are complete, El Tecolote will add English and Spanish captions to the videos. Responses will be published on our website and social media every week starting in August.

Our questions will center the unique needs of the district’s street vendors, immigrants, service workers and other Latinx communities that are underrepresented in larger political conversations.

Ahead of these interviews, we also want to hear from you!

What should El Tecolote ask District 9 candidates?

Please enter your question on the form below, or send an email to cami@eltecolote.org.
