This public program, associated with current exhibition Empujando Tinta, includes a live screen-printing demo, a talk between artists Jesus Barraza of Taller Tupac Amaru and Nancy Hom, and a mandala creation and ceremony led by Hom. Barraza will be re-working an original image done by Hom for Carnaval San Francisco in the 1970s, creating a version that honors and revitalizes the storied festival in 2013. Attendees are encouraged to take posters and canvas the Mission and beyond to spread word of the festival, occurring May 25 – 26.
