In honor of the bicentennial of “El Grito,” or the call to arms that launched the fight for Mexican independence on September 15, 1810, the Mexican Consulate hosted a day-long celebration in front of San Francisco City Hall.

The San Francisco celebration, which was attended by more than 4,000 people, was one of more than 30 events coordinated by the consulate in the Bay Area and Northern California including in Oakland, Sonoma, Napa, Calistoga, Yountville and Halfmoon Bay.
