Sat., Nov. 12 • 5pm – 9pm “ZOTZ” comic book release party The young Salvadoran graphic artist Daniel Parada began drawing and creating artistic havoc at age 3. He developed his craft studying visual arts at San Francisco’s School of the Arts, and spent two years studying illustration at NYC.’s School of Visual Arts, After he left school, he spent many hours researching Mesoamerican culture and fleshing out the concepts that would become his first comic book, Zotz: Serpent and Shield, an epic story with supernatural elements, whose characters are loosely based on Hunahpu and Xbalanque, the Hero twins featured in the “Popul Vuh”, the sacred K’iche Maya book of creation.
