Argentine Dance presents: Gilberto Barraza We are delighted to welcome back musician Gilberto Barraza to share his musical talents for our March 20 Argentina Salón Series program. Gilberto began performing with such groups as Yulutecán in El Salvador, and appeared on the television program “Cantando por un Sueño”. He has fronted for such artists as Facundo Cabral, Mercedes Sosa*, and Grupo Illapu. He immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 25 and resides in the Bay Area. He directs his own group, Azahares, that plays a tropical mix, and composes new work. He is releasing a new CD this summer.
