<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the tragic events of La Matanza<\/em> in 1932, an unknown number of Salvadoran indigenous people perished, estimated between 10,000 and 30,000 people.\u00a0 As a result, native communities in El Salvador took their ceremonies and culture into hiding.\u00a0 78 years after these events, communities have re-emerged and are being recognized officially by El Salvador\u2019s government.\u00a0 We gather our collective Spirit of Memory <\/em>with our <\/em><\/strong>Bay Area community and utilize it to discuss traditional culture and bi-nationality through discussion, song, and ceremonies.<\/p>\n

      Despu\u00e9s de los tr\u00e1gicos acontecimientos de La Matanza en 1932, un n\u00famero desconocido de personas originarias Salvadore\u00f1os perecieron estimado en entre 10.000 y 30.000 personas.\u00a0 Comunidades originarias en El Salvador tomaron sus ceremonias y la cultura a la clandestinidad.\u00a0 Setenta y ocho a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de estos acontecimientos, las comunidades han resurgido y han sido reconocidas oficialmente por la Repubica de El Salvador.\u00a0 Nuestra comunidad de la \u00c1rea de la Bah\u00eda este fin de semana utilizar\u00e1n su Esp\u00edritu de Memoria<\/em> para discutir la cultura tradicional y bi-nacionalidad a trav\u00e9s de la discusi\u00f3n, canci\u00f3n y ceremonia.<\/p>\n
