{"id":67007,"date":"2025-07-23T17:46:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T00:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eltecolote.org\/content\/?p=67007"},"modified":"2025-07-31T14:13:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T21:13:11","slug":"latino-homeless-families-get-30m-housing-win-longer-shelter-stays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eltecolote.org\/content\/en\/latino-homeless-families-get-30m-housing-win-longer-shelter-stays\/","title":{"rendered":"Homeless families secure $30M housing win, longer shelter stays"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Latino homeless families are celebrating a major $30 million win for emergency rent vouchers and extended shelter stays \u2014 a victory they helped secure alongside Supervisor Jackie Fielder, who announced the new investments today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very happy because we need the rent subsidies, we need to be safe,\u201d said Brenda&nbsp; C\u00f3rdoba, leader of the homeless nonprofit Faith in Action Bay Area. Rather than be split up, they are currently homeless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re happy that the Mayor\u2019s Office reversed the shelter eviction policy and added critical funding,\u201d Coto said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to continue insisting on housing for our families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Faith in Action will host a victory party this Friday at 2 p.m. at their San Francisco
