There\u2019s no more urgent time to be in community than now. Amid the fear, shock, and uncertainty surrounding Trump\u2019s reelection \u2014 and the significant role Latinx people played in the outcome \u2014 many of us are left asking: what can we do moving forward?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our recommendation? Get more involved with our local Latinx communities and grassroots organizations. In a city full of immigrants, workers, artists, and students, it\u2019s essential to strengthen our networks and seek new ones. Here are a few upcoming events that center on community building, education, and solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Rumba No Para<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A heartfelt salsa love story about growing up in San Francisco\u2019s La Misi\u00f3n, La Rumba No Para by Andrea Rodriguez explores love, loss, and addiction, inviting audiences to ask: How do we heal? This multimedia performance blends dance, spoken word, and original music, with artists from the Bay Area Salsa\/Mambo community. Tickets<\/a> are available on a sliding scale, $10-$75.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by the Festival of Latin American Contemporary Choreographers (FLACC), this event features eleven performances representing social justice issues, centering local immigrant, queer, feminist, and Indigenous perspectives on Palestine.
