In this photo essay by Jeremy Word<\/em><\/em>, El Tecolote captures the story of Denhi Donis, better known as the Flower Lady, fighting an Ellis Act eviction by her landlords Thorsten Gernoth and Blanca Estela Rodriguez. On April 28, community members held a rally in front of her Bernal Heights home. Donis has been providing flowers to San Francisco for more than 15 years and is a cancer survivor. Four days after the pandemic started, Donis was served an eviction notice, giving her only 12 days to vacate her home of 15 years. With the support of her attorney from the Tenderloin Housing Clinic, she has been fighting this eviction ever since.<\/em>…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
