Nicaragua revivi\u00f3 fantasmas de 1931 y 1972 este pasado 10 de abril, con el impacto de un terremoto de 6.2 en la escala de Richter, seguido por otros dos de 6.7 y 5.6, tres d\u00edas despu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

El Instituto de Estudios Territoriales (INETER) en Nicaragua report\u00f3 535 sismos entre el 10 y 21 de abril. Los temblores mantuvieron a las poblaciones de Nagarote, Mateare, Managua y ciudades a su alrededor, durmiendo por cinco noches consecutivas en las calles y parques como medida preventiva.<\/p>\n

\u201cSusto es poco\u2026 angustia y zozobra\u201d, as\u00ed describi\u00f3 Indira Ortega, habitante de Managua, el sentir general de la poblaci\u00f3n. Se reportaron dos muertos, 231 casas colapsadas y 2.408 casas da\u00f1adas. El ej\u00e9rcito de Nicaragua moviliz\u00f3 a 260 hombres que hicieron llegar ayuda a m\u00e1s de 2.295 evacuados.<\/p>\n

Las comunidades de Mateare y Nagarote, ambas a escasos kil\u00f3metros de la capital, Managua, fueron las m\u00e1s afectadas por este nuevo golpe de la naturaleza.<\/p>\n

El epicentro del sismo se registr\u00f3 a una profundidad de 10 kil\u00f3metros al sureste del Lago Xolotl\u00e1n. Cabe se\u00f1alar que las fallas que activaron este fen\u00f3meno, ubicadas en el mismo lago y pasando por los volcanes Momotombo, Momotombito y Apoyeque, son distintas a las fallas que destruyeron Managua a\u00f1os atr\u00e1s.<\/p>\n

Nicaragua, un pa\u00eds golpeado hist\u00f3ricamente por desastres naturales. Sufri\u00f3 un terremoto en 1931 que dej\u00f3 aproximadamente 1.500 v\u00edctimas mortales, y en 1972 otro que mat\u00f3 a 20.000 personas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
