San Francisco\u2019s cooperative, Rainbow Grocery, recently donated $30,000 to the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON), to help Filipinos affected by the Nov. 11 typhoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat started off as a casual break room conversation about Typhoon Haiyan quickly turned into a realization that we should do something to help,\u201d said Jennifer Stocker, public relations representative for Rainbow Grocery. \u201cWe asked ourselves, how can we make an impact and help those affected by the tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the typhoon Haiyan struck, the NAFCON organization has worked to aid to over 100,00 Filipino citizens. NAFCON is headquartered in San Francisco and is comprised of over 30 grassroots organizations who work directly with aid relief in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

To acknowledge Rainbow Grocery\u2019s exceptional act of goodwill, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors recently presented the Co-op with an official Certificate of Honor.<\/p>\n
