j\u00f3venes de la Misi\u00f3n, ha sido forzado a cerrar permanentemente a partir del 31 de julio, debido a la cancelaci\u00f3n de fondos.<\/p>\n<p>Fundado en 2001 como una extensi\u00f3n del Centro Comunitario Jamestown, MVC abastec\u00eda las necesidades de transporte de organizaciones comunitarias, tales como la Escuela de Lengua y Vocaci\u00f3n Misi\u00f3n, Graduados de la Misi\u00f3n, y el Centro de Recursos Familiares Buen Samaritano, para estudiantes del primer al doceavo grado.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAhora tendremos que rentar minivans para esos eventos, lo cual costar\u00e1 miles de d\u00f3lares a Graduados de la Misi\u00f3n durante el a\u00f1o\u201d, dijo el Director<br \/>\nEjecutivo de Graduados de la Misi\u00f3n, Edward Kaufman. \u201cCada d\u00f3lar que (Graduados de la Misi\u00f3n) gasta en transporte ser\u00e1 (dinero) que quitemos a servicios directos y al apoyo para estudiantes y familias\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Desde 2010, MVC recibi\u00f3 fondos del Departamento de Ni\u00f1os, J\u00f3venes y Familias (DCYF), una organizaci\u00f3n no lucrativa del \u00c1rea de la Bah\u00eda que se especializa en programas comunitarios y para j\u00f3venes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTradicionalmente, la DCYF no ha prove\u00eddo fondos para transportaci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo la Directora Ejecutiva de DCYF, Mar\u00eda Su. \u201cCuando nuestros fondos fueron menores a a\u00f1os anteriores, tuvimos que decidir entre poner los fondos que hab\u00eda disponibles en programas sociales de servicio directo o en transporte\u2026 la necesidad de programas sociales ten\u00eda que tomar prioridad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ayudando a miles de j\u00f3venes mayores de 12 a\u00f1os en la Misi\u00f3n a que obtengan un acceso seguro a actividades como programas de despu\u00e9s de escuela y viajes de estudio, el cierre de MVC representa un golpe tanto a padres como a organizaciones para j\u00f3venes en la Misi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn invierno es cuando empezaremos a ver problemas\u201d, dijo el Gerente de MVC, Stephen Moss, al referir c\u00f3mo el cierre de MVC afectar\u00e1 a los m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os que utilizan el programa: \u201cCuando empiece a oscurecer m\u00e1s temprano, va a ser un problema para la seguridad de los ni\u00f1os, especialmente aquellos que viven en las \u00e1reas de Bayview-Hunters Point\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La seguridad ser\u00e1 uno de los principales problemas que deber\u00e1n enfrentar los miembros de la comunidad que han dependido de los servicios de transporte de MVC. \u201cMVC ha servido a San Francisco por m\u00e1s de 12 a\u00f1os como una alternativa segura de transporte para ni\u00f1os a escuelas, centros de deporte, viajes de estudio, a sus casas o de regreso a sus programas\u201d, dijo Rosamunda
