As a member of the Gabrielino Tongva Indians of California\u2014a tribe not federally recognized and without reservation land\u2014Dorame brings her large-scale photographs to Galer\u00eda de la Raza, in search of her roots and historical background. With personal and cultural \u201cartifacts,\u201d she explores constructions of community and origin stories as cultural outcomes of the need to tie one\u2019s existence to the land.
