Music and Nature together is the best therapy for anything. The San\u00a0Francisco Community Music Center in the Mission has both of these. I have\u00a0been a student at this wonderful music school for many years and each\u00a0\u00a0individual year my music becomes better and the plants and flowers grow\u00a0larger and brighter. \u00a0When one begins to walk on the steps of the school,\u00a0one’s ears are covered in beautiful music and one’s view is greeted with\u00a0vines and gorgeous plants glazing the light green paint of the Victorian\u00a0house that is the school building. This place brings tranquility to the
\nstress of everyday life.<\/p>\n
After school, when my classes take place, I usually am drained to the bottom\u00a0of my feet, only having enough energy to carry the electric Bass strapped\u00a0over my right shoulder. \u00a0However, after stepping off of the MUNI bus and\u00a0being surrounded by city sounds,\u00a0my personal engine is completely refilled\u00a0to the very last drop and replenished after being in my Music class.<\/p>\n
At the Community Music Center, I see students of every age, ethnicity, and\u00a0race, each person’s face looking happy. The teachers and staff are dedicated\u00a0and caring. \u00a0Here, I learned how to play the violin, the electric bass, and singing in the Children’s Choir. \u00a0My father and I enjoyed singing in the\u00a0Christmas “Los Posadas” program. I am now learning to play the upright bass\u00a0instrument.<\/p>\n
For many years, the San Francisco Community Music Center has provided many\u00a0opportunities to both grow as a musician and also as a human being. \u00a0It has\u00a0taught me the C major scale and also how to treat the people around me with\u00a0respect. \u00a0It has taught me how to be disciplined in achieving my goals in a\u00a0fun and beneficial way. \u00a0I have brought each of these attained attributes\u00a0and utilized it in my daily life. But the most important value this school\u00a0has taught me is that Music is the best remedy. \u00a0It brightens my spirit and\u00a0soothes my soul.\u00a0The Community Music Center is a special gift to everyone in the community.<\/p>\n
Like the beautiful plants and flowers that surround it, it is a Beautiful\u00a0Garden that I am so grateful for.<\/p>\n
The Community Music Center is celebrating its 90th Year! \u00a0I hope you and\u00a0your family will visit this Beautiful Garden in our midst!<\/p>\n
