Calle 24 council voted unanimously last night to take a stand. A stand for unity, compassion, acceptance, culture, community, and tolerance. Together we fought and marched for Alex Nieto, against police brutality, against the displacement of residents and businesses and the destruction of our arts and culture. We stand by our youth and our seniors. We stand not for violence or division, but for dialogue so that we can move forward together as a community, at a time when we see injustice everywhere in the Mission. Straight or gay we are your brothers and sisters, your aunts and uncles, your mothers and fathers. Only as a true family can we move forward. Let’s create that dialogue.

Sincerely,
Calle 24 Council
