San Francisco was a packed house over the weekend as thousands of people from all over the Bay Area—and some from across the country and world—came together to enjoy the 2017 San Francisco Pride parade on Sunday, June 25.

Many people came out wearing casual clothes, but the other half came out dressed as colorful butterflies with large wings flapping attached on their backs, and others covered in colorful glitter from head-to-toe.

Sunday’s 47th annual Pride parades across the country weren’t just a celebration, but a symbol of resistance against the current administration in the White House.

San Francisco Pride’s theme this year was “A Celebration of Diversity.” Photography by Alejandro Galicia Diaz
